I would first work on Donkey Kong, he seems to be the character with the white edges around him with the bg. Also, it does seem a big dark, maybe lighten a bit to make the colors more vibrant, if a darker feel is what you're going for, then possibly try to pick a different color than a grey blue.

I think that it's amazing so far but I got an idea of what I would edit.:
Ganondorf: It took a while to realize where his body was, so try to make it stand out from the background more. Add something like gold in his armor/clothes to where his torso is to make it stand out.
Popo: The color of the background makes Popo’s parka not show up, so I would try to change the shade of the parka to a lighter tint.
Donkey Kong: Unless you planned on making his hands like they are, his hands aren’t there.
Pit: The light area between his hairs wasn’t filled in. The sword seems fake, I guess I would color the inside a light silver with a white outline.
