Hmm, that sounds like a technical issue in photoshop... :S I'm not sure if a tablet would fix or even link to fixing a problem like that, haha. Maybe check out some forums?
Yeah, I can see how that would be annoying. But what about changing the size of your PS canvas? I know there's a default size but sometimes my computer will automatically change it to something else and it messes with me because my lines come out lighter instead of black and crisp.
Oh, actually it's a lot easier than it seems! The tablet syncs with the dimensions of the computer screen, so it gives it a pretty big playing field. I have a 1680x1050 widescreen, and I still have plenty of space to draw since it's all synced. :) Bigger tablets are harder, to me, because you have to move your arm all around its expanse to get to the other side of the screen, lol.
I'm sure I've asked this before, but for paintings like this... I see you used PS elements for this one, so I was wondering... do you use a tablet or mouse for this stuff??

I used to paint on a large scale, like 1500x1500, but I've scaled down to usually 600x800.

What size do you usually use when painting on photoshop?

Tablet (6x8 Graphire from Wacom), because I cannot draw a passable stickman with a mouse, lol. Invest in a tablet, if you don't have one!!! :)
