I'm sorry to hear your wonderful art was stolen Reengirl. *Shakes head* I've been gone for a week, so I probably missed all the drama. But again sorry someone stole your work.
When a friend is stolen from our hurt, we all have our ways of responding, and sometimes, the anger can get the best of us. I don't know what was said, but I guess it caused an uproar.
Your apologize was mature, and I'm glad you did, I just hope the plagiarizer also apologized as well, then we all can go back to enjoy your own personal work. If all is said and done, we can move on.
We all enjoy your work Reengirl, I had someone stole one of my fan fiction drabbles, and it got a little out of hand I must admit, but the admins took charge and removed the problem. Glad your art is where it's suppose to be, with you Reengirl!
wow.. i dont think it's anybody's fault but the thief's.. i wasnt aware that someone in here has stolen works from some people who's here too.. why would that person have an account here knowing the works belongs to this community..? o.o?!
u just felt responsible for knowing such violations and let the victims know about that and from then on, it's their responsibility too on what could happen next with their actions toward the act.. u apologized for causing the so-called drama, but from a victim's point of view, what u did was justice.. *at least for me...* thank u for standing up for what is right... *the reporting part*
cheer up.. *^^* drawing is suppose to be fun and we post to share it to other people.. if someone's taking credits to what belongs to u or any of us, we all know that the credits were directed to the original and if we're lucky, some people might recognize our work and just like the game "cheat", what they gained, u'll get when they're caught.. lol.... and same example, cheat... if they're caught, they'll try again until they get tired and eventually dismiss.. so let them be.. let them do the advertising.. they cant possibly post the stolen works before the originals anyway.. in short, let them be happy for once.. after that, they'll need some time to recover from the shame before they repeat if they dare.... *not a threat, it's a fact* v.v

I'm not going to say you did nothing wrong, everyone here telling you that is incorrect. After all if that were true, there would be no need for an apology. What I will say is being upset that someone stole your work isn't the problem, it's how you responded to it.
In this case, raising the banner and actually giving out the name of the person was the problem, especially when staff had responded to the theft and removed the stolen works from their profile.
So yes an apology is in order. Not for being upset, but for realizing that you didn't handle it as calmly as you could have. Now this is where I'll say don't be too hard on yourself. Mainly because everyone makes mistakes and so long as we learn from them I don't see a problem.
Even the person who stole can learn, many of them do, which is often why staff doesn't immediately ban someone and gives them a chance to shape up.
I really hope other people look at this and instead of saying you did nothing wrong, they realize how important it is to think before acting. Even if we don't mean for stuff to get out of hand, it can.
Anyway, I'm sure the staff will appreciate the apology. :)

it was something with cheekisquirrel when she sent her oc's away. big up rawr that caused the website to add the check box that says (fan character) next to it when uploading artwork.(someone complained about coming to this website to see art work of animes not Oc's ppl created for them.) if i remember right thats when the whole website changed its format. idk its been awhile.

Hmm, I don't normally get involved when Otaku drama stirs, but whatever, first time for everything.
There's a lesson to be learned in all of this. Putting some thought into your actions can go a long way. Of course I'm at fault as well. When someone sent me a link to that art in the chatroom I did mention how I thought it was foolish to say the person's name, but I guess I should have done a little more then just go 'Meh, oh well.' when I was ignored.
Something to remember in the future would be that you have quite a number of followers. And, almost like in politics, your actions are going to have an impact on others. Especially silly little Otakuites who don't realize that flaming an art theif makes them just as bad as the art theif themself.
And, unlike the majority of the people below my comment, I'm not going to say 'you're being too hard on yourself' or 'it's not your fault' because that's just a stupid thing to say. You can't learn a lesson when others are assuring you that your wrong deed wasn't wrong. There comes a time when everyone has to just suck it up and admit that they did something foolish. But, that's exactly what you did, so don't think I'm grilling you or anything (most of my annoyance is at the people trying to let you off easy... if that makes any sense at all :P)
Anyway, that's my two cents about this ordeal I suppose. Time for us all to move on.

It is not your fault ReeniGirl and you should not have to apologize for putting your own opinions in a picture, yes many tend to take it too far but it was only a matter of opinion who. I know that the artists on here want to try and speak kindly to others but You are not going to please everyone everytime. you took your actions into considertaion and thats all that matters. If many others don't agree and still get mad up to this point, then they don't deserve your time of day.
I don't think that you should have to apologize. You were just doing a service for those whose art was being ripped off. It’s not your fault that some people take their own anger too far. The apology picture was very cute though!
Its not your fault :D people just tend to get out of control and shoot off with their mouths cuz thats what we know best. Its human nature. But all in all u just stand tall and strong through the unexpected :D I love ur art ^_^ keep making it!!
yeah I realized that know that some of the older Otaku's do serve as somewhat as rolemodels to the other memebers. and we should try to set a good example.. an not posting rant pics with an actual name on it lol.

It did indeed cause alot of trouble and harassment and cursing and stuff. [I cursed only once and feel like poop for it ] But hopefully they are learning their lesson coz well, they were being mentioned and harassed everywhere and wherever they were and getting death threats and that was over the top. You had every right to be angry but not a hundred percent right to apologize for the stir up coz well, you were just trying to get the word out and people took different actions.
But we shtill luff yew and just be more careful and it'll all be fine~
You are forgiven Reeni-chan!!^^ It wasn't all your fault just an over reaction maybe... but I know never to steal someone elses art or to be to dramatic if someone steals mine!! You had the right to be mad but you probably should have talked to the person instead of embarrasing them!! But I forgive you!! *hugs*
I do hope to see more art that doesn't have to do with this!!^^

I realize you are upset but who wouldn't be? Just think about your actions before you do them first. You're a big girl you can do it.
The reason SunfallE took it down was for a good reason because it was stirring up so much trouble. She did her job and you may be sorry but I think it is better that she stepped in. :D

*nods* Seriously we're all a family here and we want to help each other because often we can all relate to one another. I think it's a great thing that everyone is so close but sometimes that can be used by some people just so they can gain status -__- it's okay though, we all can resolve problems if we stick together.
Harsh words never really solved anything- in fact the death threat accusations were probably the worst part of it all. But all in all I think we all realized the extent of how much heart we'll put in to defending other artists and their art as well as our own art.
*hugs you* I'll get back to your pm soon, Reeni-chan!
I think everyone had the right to be mad, though I do acknowledge that there's a limit, it's in our human nature afterall. We only wanted to protect our dear friends and artists' rights aterall, defending and protecting our friends is what we do, and sometimes that strong emotion can lead to srious business that sometimes leads to others being hurt, without us meaning to. Alright, we made a huge mess out of this, but what matters most now is what we feel now, and we feel bad about it and learned from our mistakes and that should be enough.
You didn't do naything wrong, I actually don't liek how some people are blaimg the wrong people for this situation. And apologizing should be well enough. I think everyone on both sides involved in this has been a bit too harsh on eachother.
I realize that what I've said before about the thief was not the right thing at all. I'll be more careful with what I say next time. We should all be able to forgive eachother, we're only human afterall, accidents and frustrations happen. Not everyone is able to contain their emotions as well as others, and people should be able to understand that.

Hmm... I mean, .... yeah. Art theifs... are terrible. Nobody likes them. Probably even the art thieves themselves don't even like them... but, everyone who's art was stolen had a right to be angry. Now, this doesn't mean they had rights to yell at them. Even if they didn't mean to start the whole thing. But I understand about their anger. I'm glad you apologized Reenigrl... even though i'm still undecided if the person deserved the apology for stealing your art... but that was very nice. the drawing was very good too and i hope this all gets settled out.
i dont think you personally should be apologizing but it probably shouldn't of gotten so out of hand.(it was after all, your art that was taken. u have the right to be mad.) although when ppl start leaving the art thief messages like "go die" they have crossed the line. that's harassment. i think next time all of us just need to find the original picture and then turn in the thief. done and over with. but i'm guilty of this fact too, a lot of us like to take matters into our own hands. but we probably shouldn't. i hope no one steals anymore art. it always becomes a big to do. its almost as bad as that oc battle awhile back...
I'm not sure what is going on. What happened? Art theif, I get that but I guess I missed the entire thing. I hope everything turns out ok for you and other artists envolved.
T_T, awww, don't be so harsh on yourself. I don't think this was your fault. (YOU'RE the victim after all) You were just posting your immediate thoughts and reaction to the incident.
I think that some people just went a little overboard. We know you didn't want those harsh words said.

Everyone was not only angry about the concept of an art theif, but also that particular theif was messing with our friends and comrades. Whenever someone steals from you or someone you know, diarrhia of the mouth occurs... =^_^;=
I don't remember if I've said anything extreme about anyone, but if I did then I apologize. But whether we say it out loud or not, you know we all feel the same. =^_^= It's comraderie, comraderie. *nods*
Aww, it's chibi-Reeni-chan. =^_^= Who could not accept an apology accompanied by something that cute? Though fanart or not, I understand nonetheless. We all got a bit wrapped up =^_^=
yeah the first pic I posted was just so other artists could be aware of the artthief at hand. I wanted them to help report the person, not curse at them and threaten them.
yeah, I supose we need to set an example to the other members on here that saying harsh and threataning things never eases the situation no matter how wrong it was.
yeah your right. this whole incident shows us just how much we care about other artists and our rights. and how we're willing to help one another in an incedent such as that.
which was a good thing. but I dont think people should have said such harsh words about and to that person. even if they did do a very bad thing. Verbal abuse and threats dont really ease the situation. it just seems to make it worse it some ways.
Old Chicken Nugget (Otaku Eternal) | Posted 07/29/09 | Reply
Man you feel bad, I feel terrible about it.
I didn't want a riot to begin with, I was just expressing my feelings in a joking way.
but like you said we can't control other's actions, but we could have told them not to be so harsh :/
but this picture is cute, I believe I need to apologizes as well and shall get started :3
Little Sayu (Otaku Eternal) | Posted 07/29/09 | Reply
No matter what anyone says, we all have some form of darkness or madness in our hearts somewhere and it's okay. Sometimes that darkness tends to take control and lead us to misunderstand. That's often how drama begins in any situation. It takes two people- one to say something and the other to respond.
An apology always helps but only time will really heal this whole situation. *nods* And for putting in your heart for this apology Reeni-chan, I'm sure people will understand.
The picture itself is actually really cute and well done by the way~ you always have an uncanny ability to draw such cute characters with such a unique style<3
The upside of drama like this for me was that it showed how truly close I was to other artists. Even if I've never said hello to any of them, I recognize them and their style/works of art, so I know them in essence. ^^ I made a new friend from all of this especially, and that's you! *hugs*
Remember, there's nothing bad that happens that something good doesn't come out of.
Take care Reeni-chan~

Man you feel bad, I feel terrible about it.
I didn't want a riot to begin with, I was just expressing my feelings in a joking way.
but like you said we can't control other's actions, but we could have told them not to be so harsh :/
but this picture is cute, I believe I need to apologizes as well and shall get started :3
great job!
keep it up!
