Ahhh your choice of colours are really amazing. The pose is really playful and cute, and to me only the middle guy shows some kind of darkness. I think the perspective of the chess set is a bit off though..but uh I'm not a perspective expert =_=

But back to your picture. i dont really sens anything dark about this image at all except for the excellent shaded coloring! ha ha ha. I think it's a rather happy picture even if they are pulling each others hair they seem to be enjoying it. hee hee.
To be honest I think that pirate boy with the supposed gun, ha ha ha, is unessacary in this image. I actually even am boldest to believe that the picture would have been better without him there. It's just that him and the other two boys dont have much in common. The picture would have been more powerful without him.
Either way I think your style is adorable and really great job on the colors! Cant wait to see more!

Looks very good. The depth and the contrast of the characters and the background is what really catches your eye at first. Then it's all the details that keep you looking at the picture.
