lol, funny you should say reflective - being this horse was modeled after an Ahkal-Teke type. that particular breed is known for having an odd almost metallic sheen to their coats XD

Horses aren't an easy subject, I think that's why a lot of people don't draw them. while using photo reference is good, it doesn't completely make up for being around real horses and observing their behavior and mannerisms which can be a hard since not everyone can get to a stable. (I've had access to the ranch where my sister works for the past few years...also helps that those horses can be quite the characters lol) maybe try looking online for tutorials on construction, there are a lot of good horse artists out there, there's bound to be some good ones I think.
