hey sage, which version of photoshop elements are you running again? sometimes the brushes won't load because they are ment for like CS2/CS3 that kinda thing, which isn't always backwards compatible with the elements/older version
Also: when you're doing details like that or well any drawing it's generally better to work zoomed in instead. the lines generally look MUCH cleaner because you're closer up, and detail work usually comes out cleaner too. Try starting out zoomed out for basic lines just to get a rough size for everything, but zoom in when you start really drawing. This looks great still though! Work with that tablet more >O>! you'll get it!
