Well if you want to work on Maya I can give you a lot of advices and some good videos (you will learn fast!).It's a bit hard to use 3-D max,I seen some vids and I was O_o.It's very good for background modeling :3.
Oh please go for a girl character,actually it's very ironic that since armors were made for guys,you say that.Hummm but I somehow agree with you at manga,but at real life there are so few female armors .It be fun to see what you will draw,I will also try my best XD.O wow you want me to color it right?,it's gona be so much fun!!
I give you a great line-art ,thanks to your vids I learned some Reirei skills .

Don't worry ,I will be over at the first week of December .Things are going up really well and I'm starting to channel all my strenght to get started with this wonderful art-trade.I'm also focusing and accumulating all my art energy,this will really be for long one of my biggest challenges.
I usually don't work on a picture more than one day,let's see what comes after a week of long work using Maya, to model 3-D characters and then turn them into your 2 characters.Yeah go wild with your imagination,try a semi-armor design with large clothing and some great boots to go with it.About the dragon it be fun if you aim for a dragon chair,again go wild with it.For weapons a crossbow and some random spears (maybe even a sword).Aim for what you want,I know it's not your usual art but it be great.
Gona give a long long work to your characters,gona show you a pose angle u never seen XD.
oh.. good luck with ur finals.. im having my finals on the 3rd week of december so this must be done before then...
actually, im gonna take what u just said and also ask to move this trade by the time ur done.. that way, we can both focus on our trade.. right now, im just so packed.. i wasnt expecting that at all...~~ v_v"

Yeah great choice ,I just have a lot more fun in a art trade.Wow this will really be a great challenge ,but I think I'm ready for it.The only problem I have is that my finals are just next door,and I want to trow you my best picture ever.My finals are over in 2 weeks like in December 3,4 so after that if you give me 5 days I will surely have your picture(I want a good time lapse to have it ready).
About your characters ,it be an honor to have the chance to draw them.For my part I think I have then something like a dragon and a dragon Ryder(with a cool armor XD),yeah Etna is a great char but maybe we should go with original anime. I'm sure this will be a fun art-trade,I will try my best as usual!
