You just got to remember they're based around bones and physically can't be in the shape of noodles. I'll show you how to draw hands step by step. Once you learn one finger it's easy and the palm is basically a square. Broken down like that they're not that hard.
Ahh! I see! Thanks for the criticism, I can see what you mean. Ok, Monday you'll need to show me hands... I know I'm horrible at them (none of my other friends on TheO says so though... ugh)
Let's start with the girl. The girls eyes are to far apart. The placement of the ears are to far back onto the head. Nose needs to be bigger and is out of place. It's side ways. Eyes are to close together. Red thingy on her head coloring is out of the line. Her fingers are shaped like french fries. Fingers should only bend at the joint area and not all through out.
Boy time. Nose is again to small. Eyes and the chin do not aline like they should. Ear is again to far back on the head. Shoulder is to small and awkwardly positioned. Colarbones do not go up, they go down. Boy's position of legs is awkward if he is giving a hug. Boy's whole body should be facing the girl's if it is a correct hug and not a side one (you have the boy side-ways from the girl). Boy's back of hand should be shaped around girl's waist and not part of it.
Suggestions for improvement time. Take a picture of two people giving a hug and study it (it may help to copy once). Shading is blocky so you should try not to follow your inked lines but creat curls that go into your lines. Experiment! The animal ears should allign with the normal ears so draw normal ones in pencil and go up. Hands I will show you some time at school along with shoulders. Nose should be on the same line as the chin, when you draw the steps for the face.
Aha! Yeah, I normally draw small too. I really have to watch what I'm doing, and it's hard, but yeah I try to draw big sometimes. Like, in my portfolio, Goodbye Hug was just basically as tall as my middle finger. I had to blow it up so people could see it when I uploaded it XD
No! You shall NOT eat me first! I eat JOO first!! >o< OMNOMNOMNOMNOM.
NOT IF I EAT YOU FURST (yes, that was a purposeful misspelling.)
Ah, I see. Your method makes sense. When I said "messing up", I usually end up realizing a bunch of mistakes after I've already inked it, and I normally draw small, so I end up screwing the eyes up because the inky pen tip is larger than my pencil tip.
Thanks Thyme-chan! ^o^
But no. My hands are never good looking 'cuz I try to draw them in weird positions.
Your hands are far better than mine! Don't argue with me!! D:<
Or I will eat joo... omnomnom.
Yeah, I completely agree with you! All the relationships make a big difference :D It makes the club more fun, too!
OwO I do lineart well?? Thanks very much!! ^o^
Lol... I technically don't have any actual inking pens... I just use a black 'inky' pen (that's what I call them, you might call them gel pens...) and trace over my sketch! I try to make the lines one quick stroke I guess.... like not a bunch of tiny strokes connecting each other. That's only for sketching and stuff.
And its okay if I accidentally go off the original line, 'cuz if I tried to keep to all the lines it might not look natural. I'm not sure if I can describe this too well... :/
Oh! And if you meant, you always mess up by smearing the lines, I have a pen that doesn't dry quickly too. So since I'm right handed I ink some parts on the left side of the picture first, then some lines on the right, and then let it dry for like 30 seconds or a minute.
