thanks guys, the space thing really worked and it shows in a couple of other sketches i did, i have like noooo experience as an artist. lol but my m8 (who is amazin ((at least i think so)) at drawin) got me into it and that was like a month maybe 2 ago lol, b4 i really hated how i drew stuff but manga is like perfect for everything!
I agree with Sara. (if that is her REAL name) Croping an image will really reduce the size and take away all that negative space you have. It really has a way of getting the viewer distracted and almost kind of bored of the image.
I think the idea is nice. I rather like the fact that she isn't in the center of the page. My eyes travel along her nicely. (not in a weird way, XD)
How old are you? Just asking ...well more of a question is, how much experience do you have as an artist? I don't want to critique too harshly on someone just beginning.
When you scan an image, it usually gives you a scan preview. When you're viewing the preview, you should be able to select the area of the image that contains your character. If you select that area before you do the actual, "for real" scan, you won't end up with so much empty space in your image.
Try that next time. It will make it easier to keep your file under the size limit!

It looks nice!
I like how you drew the eyes, it looks very cute :3
And the category that this would go under is in the anime group and it's called"Miku Hatsune". Why it's not vocaloids, I'm not sure, but that's just the way it is. I hope to see more of your art and keep up the good work :D
