Yeah I love getting critiques back from others as well. It's a great way to help me improve and to keep my mind open for new ideas. Glad you are able to accept it mature enough to care. That tells me you really are serious about becoming a great artist.
It's okay, I can understand broken up English pretty well, ;-D, you don't write TOO horribly. Ha ha ha.
I'm really glad you appreciate the comment, really I am. Some people can't handle critique as well as you. I just want to make arts look prettier than they already are because well, I know they can be! If you can pick up a pencil and paper to draw then you can get better at it the more you practice.
I, myself, am self taught and let me tell you it isn't any fun road trip. It has benefits to be self taught. One of the main one's you might have already noticed is the freedom of what you can draw. You are limitless when you aren't under the guidance of some snappy teacher. ha ha ha. But there are also some major down sides. One of them is that you end up catching on things slower than an average student. But if you like the slow pace than I suppose it works. Most of my life I just drew for fun and barely now did I start taking it seriously.
Anyways, just try to sketch lighter. Line drawings are nice but if you draw the lines to dark then it'll be harder to erase your mistakes.
wow - thank You for comment!
i post here to get such opinions and advices like You posted as comment
my english isnt perfect - BUT.... ill try to reply :D
actually i draw not every single day :/ but i am learning - and from very beginning i am trying to create my own style
when i have some time i sit down, relax and try to draw something
if it is about this sketch
yes there were eyes - but i erased them, because i have got big (in my opinion) problem with proper placing and proportions
what You sow there is reamings of eyebrows
after erasing them i placed again this "cross" to make my imagination work "how i could draw cool eyes in future" :D
for now i try to draw correctly face shape and hair
...... and yes i must draw lighter lines with my pencil
but i have filled only one A4 block (about 30-40 pages) so at start of my drawing i am pretty statisfied with this
i am self-taught man and i think that real progress (viesable effect) i will have in about 3-4 years?
i did allso some sketches with shadow on hair, clothes etc.
but i will work on it later - now i need to find way to draw most important lines and parts of body
i started from head, hair than eyes - because it is very important
and then body with palms
I am kind of confused as to why you posted this up. Is it finished? Do you need help with it? I don't know.
But since you posted it up I am going to say a lot about it so be prepared.
I think that it would have been a lot better if you didn't leave that dark line down the middle. I know it's a sketch! AH! But you know, even if you are sketching out, you really shouldn't press your pencil so hard on paper especially if you feel you make a lot of mistakes.
If you draw softer lighter lines, it'll be easier to see what needs to be fixed and it'll be easier to erase.
When I align faces I use the X down the face to it's supposed to help with alignment.
I can see where you erased the eye, which is kind of sad. Because I think it was one of those things where you just leave it and deal with it, because it was so darkly engraved in there. Now you have that erase mark.
If you plan on finishing this picture, try adding more shadow in the hair and in her kimono. I think this style is going somewhere but you just thought something like "I don't know what's going on anymore. this isn't working out." Kind of mode. Don't force yourself to draw. Drawing is supposed to be relaxing.
