yes, yes it was. she's overjoyed and is laughing her butt of next to me.
Looking back at the arms i noticed how your right. They do look too stiff, I wouldnt have notices if you hadnt have pointed it out. I think it's because I didnt really sketch in their definition that well before inking them, so they look to straight
for the pencils, I might have one, or one similar somewhere. I'm missing like over half of my supplies unfortunatly. If i dont i'll go out and buy some new sets. And I never really thought of black, maybe because when i used it before I pressed to hard and it looked wrong. But I'll experiment using pencils in my next picture
I am having trouble believing that you arms look like stiff boards. Sorry but it just seems too unnatural. It is so stiff to the point where it looks like there is no bone or muscle in them. I would like to see the image you referenced from. That would help greatly in my critique.
Was that mean enough for your sister :P
I think maybe if you used a darker shade of pencil it would have showed up nicer like an 6H or higher. I like to use ebony to add shadow to my whites. Press it lightly and it makes a dark gray that is nice for shadows. Maybe you should invest in better materials? I don't know.
ugh you found my weakness with shading again lol. I tried though. Origionally it was done in grey pencil, but it didnt show up when i scanned it, so i had to do it in marker, but it was to dark, and ended up even darker in the scan unfortunatly.
about the skirt textures...thats just trying to color it in with a dying marker heheh...but i guess it looks alright lol
our arms were stiff though. When we took the picture I based it on, we were in the position for so long, the arms are actually more relaxed here.
the top part of the shirts...I have really no idea what i was doing
and thanks ^^, my sister seconds this, I had her sit in her position again as a reference for the feet
she also wants me to tell you thanks for the comment but be meaner...she likes to see me cry -_-;
I really like the shading and the texture you added on their skirts. It really brings out how well you use markers. But I kind of feel that you either got lazy or just very rough with the top part of their shirts. The shadows seem a little too dark for the white and looks over all messy.
I really love their soft innocent faces to! Those eyes are aligned perfectly.
Another thing that really bothers me is how stiff their arms seem. Try to make them a little more relaxed. I think it would make your artwork look very nice!
