thank you!
yeah, I was having a hard time with the petals cause my pencil kept breaking off the lead part haha.
but I see what you mean, and I agree completly that it would have helped loads.
so darker background? I'll definatly do that next time
You did a good job adding some depth with her hair and arms—adding some to her dress, too, would help a lot.
Another thing you could keep in mind (you know, for next time you draw a flower-girl-rose-ballerina) is to try coloring "with" the linework. You did this with the vines—the direction of your coloring mimics the motion of the vines—but it would add a nice dimension to the petals, as well. Since the petals radiate from a central point, try coloring from a central point (you'd need to rotate your paper as you did this) as well.
I also agree that a darker background would really help this "pop."

I love the mood in the picture! It’s very calm and soothing. The dress is simply lovely being a rose and all. The concept behind this is great. This has to be one of my favorite pictures from you yet!
Of course i would take the time to comment! This is just to brillent not to! Its really hard to see how lighs and dark go without a refrence. It just takes alot of pratice. Stick with it man and you'll get the hang of it.
thank you very much!
yes, I really need to practice shadows with colored pencils
this is one I would love to digitally color to see the difference.
I am glad you took the time to comment
Wow this is an amazing concept drawin! I love the fact that you have her dress and the flower petals its self and how shes sitting. Very origanal. What i can say about her dress is that you might want to add more shading and lighting for the diffrent 'petals' to make it more 3D, and have the transition between the dress and petals less defined. Your skin tones are great with the shadowing and highlightings. The style is good and i like how you expand it to the face and legs. Very constent.
ooolala!!
really nice idea/pose thingy XD
i really like these pin-up drawings!!
and the colouring process sounds so.. complex lol
the one suggestion i'd make isss.. adding more shades to the clothing and er.. vine things
i know its really hard and scary to shade in traditional.. and with colour.. but it'd make your picture less flat
plus, you did a good job with her skin =]
my idea is that you can use brown or soemthign for the flower o_O
and
and
you can match it with the skin shading by doing it in..er.. blochs (?) instead of actual lightsource+real shadows XD
Yeah exactly!! That's the feeling I got. You always have a great way of portraying the images, you can just feel so much from them and you always have such strong ideas
I like how you fused her into the flower so it looks like she is one with nature. She seems very peaceful, but it also seems that her rebellious style is a sign that she wants to escape from the stem.

Such an incredible concept makes you think and look at it with more attention with all the small details and the idea she's part of the flower.
My suggestion would be of course, shading the rose a bit more, especially on the petals that are far away from her also the vines.
I would also suggest adding a darker background, all the red from the rose would pop out and become more alive.
All in all this is beautiful piece, congrats! :3
