Great chibi work! I especially like all the attention you gave to the detailing on the belt or whatever it's called. Nice background too, very fitting.
I have no idea how to make lines look good in any sort of digital paint program! I always make lines with inks, too. I can get more control of the thickness with pens and inks that I can't get with anything else. Plus, mastering pen and ink makes me more careful, since if I make a mistake I can't press "undo"! So, I have no choice but to take my time when inking my lines.
I did notice and I was very interested because it's a very detailed one. It's hard to get a decent line-art done with photoshop, but I been training to get it better.I always been more fond to the hand inking after all.
I'm glad you noticed the work I did on the lines. I think this picture was made in '07, and around that time is when I started to pay attention to how I did my lines. At first, I made my lines too thick, too thin, or just plain uneven looking. However, when I finally noticed how to do lines correctly, I decided that the only way I'm going to get them to look right is if I buy a good pen. Now, all my works are inked with my Deleter pens and nibs. I love those pens!
It's a really nice and detailed artwork.I makes me remember our classic style with some "new stuff" going on.I like the colors you picked and the lineart,it's very clean and detailed.
I liked the elements of the kimono's design as well, great picture its a fav.
