I believe it was the mercury in the chemicals they used to prepare the materials for making hats. Although they say that hatters that went mad actually got really depressed and quiet. The model is supposed to be a furniture maker who made crazy things, like a bed that tipped you onto the floor in the mornings if you set the alarm. Either way, great job! I LOVE the little earings that are all the card suits!

I think it was 'Steampunk'; taking normal, modern every-day objects and making them seem of the Victorian era. Usually clothing.
