Okay, the hair looks really good, but maybe you could go for some cell shading because soft shading is pretty hard to do in photoshop. When you cell shade you should only use three different colours, the base, the shadow, and the darker shadow. But when you use the darker shadow you should make sure it matches the first shadow (and don't use that darker shadow on that much of the body, use it like under the chin and under some clothes, but not that much at all on the face). And when shading make sure it doesn't cover up that much of the body. Just shade under the chin, a bit around the clothes, and a bit on the face (to define the features), but not that much. Make sure your colours on the skin match, unless you're making a certain lighting, then I'd suggest you just draw a thin line from wherever the direction of that light colour is coming.
I hope that helps...at all....Everything else looks really good, especially the hair! ^ ^
I think it looks pretty good. And don't worry if somebody might have a better tablet drawing that you might have on their first try because they probably thought from a different perspective or had shaded/coloured in a specific way that carried over into their CGing skills. (Sorry if that made no sense, I don't know how to explain it, but I see it a lot).
I think the colouring looks good, especially on the hair and eyes! ^ ^
I can give you some tips, but first, what program do you use?

:3 That would be awesome! I use Photoshop Elements!
I think part of my issue is that I have toootallly different pixel and traditional styles, and I'm trying to mesh them :3
