Not bad. I figured PS would be a lot different than GIMP. Like for me, SAI is a lot different than PS; they share a lot of the same tools, but SAI just has a different feel to it. But I think CS5 should have a pen tool that will allow you to make straight lines (curvy lines too), so that might help you with the lineart. Also, you can right-click your background layer, and click "Duplicate Layer." That will allow you to move the lineart layer to wherever you want so you can color it.
Grant it, I haven't dealt with regular PS save for one time in 9th grade. I have PS Elements and it doesn't have the pen tool or anything, but I use the "Duplicate Layer" whenever I need it.
