wow I didn't know so many people I knew were fans of hers!
I'm really sad that she's gone, her stories were among the ones I had most fun reading, but I am also just glad she left behind so much that we can remember her by.
I can't remember if you read the book or not, but in the book, Sophie had that power, so that's the connection I was going for... though I thought of it after I drew it...
it's really sad, but I'm glad she left behind so much
with all the exams coming up and the tarot card, I probably won't finish very soon even though I want to >_< and I was kinda thinking, with all the time limitations, maybe I shouldn't spend too much time coloring rough sketches. so I'm gonna clean them up first!
"she who could take life into things"... perfect..
if not coz of u, i wouldnt have known that she wrote howl's... XD she will be remembered.. <3
and yes... keep submitting art especially those u showed me...!!!!!!!!!! which...? all of them..!! but im looking forward most on those 2 pieces i told u.. >v<!!!!
That's so cool. I always felt that Howl's Moving Castle was different than all of Miyazaki's other works, but I never knew it was based off of a book. I'll have to find the book and read it. Thanks for the insight.
yup Ghibli's Howl's Moving Castle is based on the book by Diana Wynne Jones! I was so excited when I heard the movie was coming out since it was my favorite book at the time. The first time I saw black-haired Howl in a magazine, I got confused cuz I thought Sophie had red hair XD The movie's pretty different from the book though, the book is somewhat more complicated, definitely worth reading! The Chrestomanci series is really fun too, fantasy/modern and lots of humor!
That's a nice thing you did, though I can't say I'm familiar with her books. But I do love Howl's Moving Castle. You said you wanted to draw Sophie as you pictured her before the movie came out; does that mean that Howl's is based off a book by Diana Wynne Jones?

That is really depressing news, it's sad that she won't be writing anymore. Her stories are among some of my favorite ever.
