I think starting a fan comic will always be great at any time. I do think you should make a fan comic, you can learn a lot from doing it, but when it comes to improving in drawing, it won't really help you too much because you will keep having to cut off parts of the drawing to fit in the panels and some would be covered up with speech bubbles. But it is good to practice the paneling anyways.

For getting better at drawing just takes lots of determination and practice. Look up a bunch of tutorials on how to draw certain things.

If you want some good tutorials then just say so and I can PM you some good ones!

Aww, and it's sad when things don't work out...I usually get really sad just thinking about it...*tries not to think about it*
