WELL, ahem! :D First, I recommend learning katakana. Why? Because I learned it first. xD But really, it is not as important as hiragana (katakana is used for foreign names, names of their towns, when wanting to introduce something, or using some foreign words, while hiragana for everything else. Particulary for adverbs, verbs, adjectives and such, because Kanji is used mainly for nouns but can be also used for verbs, while hiragana and sometimes katakana combine these nouns and verbs).
When you learn Katakana (you can easily find it on net), you can move on hiragana. But remember to always learn first the first row, then the second and so on. When you learn first row, just keep on writing it for each day several times and always repeating each row just before you learn a new one. It takes time I know, but it is the best method.
After you learn both, I will send you some hiragana texts so that you can practice reading. It is not only learning them, but learning them to read fast is something completely different.

I think that even if you despise it, you still managed to do it well. :D Naruto of course, but what you did absolutely fantastic is Hina there. She looks even better than in the original anime (though I can't quite remember, because I don't watch it, but I know that I was never fan of Naruto's graphics, so you did this quite well and different).
