Getting a style is REALLY hard...I've noticed a lot of really good artists keep changing their styles as they improve even if they were really good at one time they just get a more interesting style...Sometimes I wonder if you can even decide on styles...
I see nothing explicitly wrong with the shading on those, although the last one looked a bit awkward with the placing of the extended leg. But I just chalk that up to your particular style, so I see nothing wrong with it =3 (The shading, that is)

I think maybe in that case it works because the character style is pretty awesome to begin with. If it were just the lineart, it'd be like "Wow!" I see what you're saying, though. I couldn't leave it like that, though XD I'm too anal retentive for that XD;;
I suppose. I'm not sure what getting too carried away would look like, at least not off the top of my head. I'll try not to, tho XD; And nah, I don't think I've seen you get tto carried away, either =3
Well, it's sloppy-ish cell shading-ish...They do use some blending..*shrugs*
But you should never get too carried away with blending. I've seen a lot of times where people have gone overboard with it...in most cases it was me buuuut...XD
You also have to be accurate with blended shading...but you can have more fun with blended shading...>3> There's some cell shading that's really messy and inaccurate but it's SO BEAUTIFUL! ;_;

Because you have to be accurate XD; With blended shading, you can smudge everything and it looks alright XD; That's why I usually use it, since I make many mistakes =>u>;= lol
I actually found the hair easier to follow than the clothes... Shading clothes with cel shading is difficult since you have to be aware of where every fold goes. I'm still not so great at understandign clothing folds. Guess I should go look at real clothes some more, but bah XD;
Ahaha, yeah, I thought it would be a nice touch X3 I like system parodies in anime. Like in Gintama, everyone was scrambling to get the latest Bentendo Owee XD

We probably will never stop changing. I think that other people are more able to recognize your style than you are, yourself, though.

But I mean, it's not as rigid. You can be more liberal with blended shading. I haven't seen sloppy cel-shading yet, except maybe my own XD; ha
