Yes...and I also hope my family and I develop a better relationship, but that won't happen if they can't see me as myself, rather than a flawed human who needs improvement. I stay away from that kind of thinking--it does me no good.

SOmeties it's hard for me to talk to my family. They've always made me feel like there was something wrong with me. It wasn't so bad until after my brother was born. It quickly became clear that I was "different" and he was "normal" so they treated me differently. I wished they wouldn't.

I can be chatty but I can also be antisocial at times. So for the most part I don't get tired of any people, but there are some times I just want to be left alone and don't want to see anyone. That's actually one of the reasons I get annoyed with my brother--when I want to be left alone, he still follows me around.

Thanks. The thing is, I don't get as irrationally angry and competitive with others as I do with my brother. Sometimes I actually have to just walk away from him so I don't hurt him. He's the same way--always competitive with me, often angry/eager to prove me wrong. I wonder why we're like that with each other?

You think that would be the case? Does it have anything to do with competition?
You know, it's weird, everyone says my brother and I get along so great, they wish their kids acted like us..but while we don't physically fight or bicker incessantly, there's a lot of competiton between us that can make things tense

I suppose. We get along better when we travel, simply because if you're going to be stuck with someone in a small car for nine hours, and you don't get along with them, it doesn't help anyone.

You really don't seem to get along with your brother well. I don't get along with my brother well either. I mean, sometimes we do, but a lot of the time my brother and I get on each others' nerves for no apparent reason.

You said you had two brothers, right? Do you get along well with either of them?
