i like the Death Note characters from the waist up, but their legs are kinda too long for my taste. when i draw legs, the maximum length would be the same length as the length of the body...(and only a few of my friends have those proportions, this particular proportions is from a friend who's about 172 cm) yeah i know Naruto's characters have bodies that look fat sometimes, so when i draw girls i generally draw thinner bodies.

Actually, naruto drawing style isn't my favorite, especially how Kishimoto draw hair and faces. Sometimes he draws bodies too big that makes the characters look fat.
I you want, check Death Note or Air Gear. The characters' proportions are perfect, if you ask me.

nah, i haven't seen that..and i might not want to see that XPPP i have this obsession with near-to-normal body proportions...it's what drew me to Naruto in the first place, and it's part of the reason i rarely watch any other manga. =P

Do you know xxxHolic? The characters' proportions are weird. They are drawn with very long, thin torsos and limbs. I couldn't get my mind off of how badly drawn and out of proportion the characters design was. Though some people may find it unique. D:

there's this guy in our class who's crazy about Shana (the title character in SHakugan no Shana)...anyway she's this midget-ish girl with with really really long legs and no figure whatsoever....he keeps drawing her =PP i've never read manga or novels about Shana though.

all the people i know who draw mostly draw girls...they bring sketchbooks and manga and start copying pictures of girls off onto paper. it's kind of funny watching the guys in our class draw girls, because sometimes their proportions are really, really.....off XPPP

Yes, usually guys can draw guys better. But of course, there are exceptions.
One of my best friends (who is a girl) can't draw girls. She prefers to draw boys. :)

haha thanks =D i started copying Kishimoto's drawings when i was in eighth grade =))i can't draw boys either...i can only copy from pictures and it's been ages since i drew a guy (drawing girls is so much more interesting, guys only have a few types of clothes and too much jewelry would make them look so weird... i need to learn how to draw curly hair =)) it's so cute!!
