Personally I find the anime of Ranma well done. I love the person in charge f the character design, her characters are always soooo cuuuute!
And the original stories of anime are also interesting. I think the staffs really like the couple of Ranma and Akane lol because they always put some cute love scenes.
And yeah, that's right that they were fiance from the beginning. And at that time Akane liked other guy(the doctor who likes Akane's sister) but gradually she gets more interested in Ranma hehe.
Ranma "When I get to go to China, you can come with me."
Akane "Really? Cool! I wanna go see it!(Pointing at the guide book) "
Ranma "Ah I've been there before"
That makes sense. If I remember correctly, they had an arranged marriage too. That might have caused a bit of tension in the beginning.
I think a while back I planned to watch it, but I never got around to it. I also seem to recall the first opening theme to be extremely catchy and listening to the character songs as well.

When Ranma is in girl form, I like it that they fight sometimes which makes the later love scenes more exciting lol, but I also like the way they care about each other like close friends ^^

The only reason why "they were at each other's throats" is because the other ppl always interrapt when they get in the mood and embarrass them lol
Pretty frustrating but that's one of the elements which makes the story fun lol

I've only ever "read" (more like just looked at the pictures)the Japanese manga, but they were a very cute couple. Even though it seemed that they were at each other's throats a lot.

I love Inuyasya too especially Sessyomaru and Rin. They are so adorable and I admire Rumiko Takahashi, the author ^^
If you like Inuyasya, you will definitely like Ranma 1/2. Ranma is less serious than Inuyasya and I like the way it is.
