oh wait you said you were joking about a feminine guy...
haha...*climbes down from fridge*
Anywy it looks crackalackin
Did you digitize the clean-up around the eyes
During a quick look at the pic it looks like that was the only place that it looked like it.
I, however, am no where near anywere smarts with arts :S
Ah, true. I'm just too lazy, because when I do end up blending stuff, I go overboard!
Acrylics are a type of paint. They're water-based, so they dry quicker than oil paints, but they're usually opaque in comparison to water colors. They can be made more translucent by the use of gel media. It's versatile because you can water it down with water if you want, and the result can look like a oil painting or a water color painting or something in between!
Inks, or drawing inks to me- there are inks that are better in particular for drawing, because they can be watered down to give a bit of blending. Chinese paintings are the best at showing this use of this type of media. Normally I use multiple colors when using drawing inks, because they can vary a lot in opacity. Be warned though! if you slap a massive blot of ink directly from the bottle, it will NOT shift, no matter how much you try. so it's always best to build up gently, from well-diluted inks to pure ink from the bottle for a piece with more depth.
Dry point etching is often a bit more difficult to do, because some specialist equipment is needed for an optimal print. It's of the printmaking family- this means you get a piece of material, and you apply marks to it - in this case, with a scribe. Dry point etching allows for fine prints, with lots of delicate blurring that other forms of print making don't allow, so I'm rather biased towards it~
Haha, I am in neither way right, you can say that? :D But hey, both traditional and digital. I could swear that it is just traditional, but you managed to make it so well appealing. Congrats~!^^
Yup yup, just like that, haha. :D But true, it is in that way and you did it quite well. :) I only once drew myself and I don't know.. I looked different, but still similar. XD
I remember your last self-portrait. This one is an improvement, but it is a different style too. :)
I like being messing when I do any kind of art. So blending is the best part. :3 ALSO EXPLAIN ALL OF THOSE WONDERFUL MEDIAS YOU JUST SAID! I don't know what they are......
Its half digital and half traditional. *laughs* YOUR HALF RIGHT! :D
So that was the long way of saying pretty good? *laughs* Thanks for the comment mate, and I do agree with you. When drawing ourselfs we rarely draw what we see, but what we feel about ourselfs.
Hey, pretty impressive... um, digital portrait? XD Kidding, we can all see what it is! :D
And yup, it is good. I mean I don't know how you look, but come on drawing ourselves is never easy. It is like when that inner sight controls us and shows us what to do. When monologue becomes dialogue and when our self-esteem tends to grow.
Aaaand, what I just said means that you have done pretty well! ^_^
Ahh I see, that's interesting! I'm often too lazy to blend my charcoals well...
I usually go down the mixed media route... mostly because I'm silly like that. But if I had to pick, I'd go for acrylics, drawing inks or dry point etching~ *art addiction leaking through oops*
I did put effort into it! *laughs* Im trying to get better at drawing realistic so self portraits are often easiest because i can refer to my face if i need it. I dont have to go chasin down people to look at their faces. XD
No you don't! I mean, obviously I have no idea of what you look like, but this is a good portrait none the less! I can see you put effort into it, and that is what matters, eh?
*laughs* It is QUITE alright mate! It happens on a semi-regular basis do not worry! Im not offended by it or anything. ^^
And I enjoy charcol because its nice to work with. You can get alot of depth easily, and a fair amount of contrast bewteen whites and blacks instead of too many greys.
Kidding kidding!
Although that would be really akward. Anyway no i'm 100% female. The name tends to throw people for a loop. DON'T LISTEN TO IT! IT LIES.
