I noticed that you have asked for constructive criticism on this piece. I hope you do not mind me giving you some. (●^o^●)
Its wonderful to know that you drew this while having some sort of motivation/inspiration. Music is a wonderful tool to help the artist relax and get deeply involved and inspired by what they are doing. Popipo is a very happy cheerful song. It relates to Miku’s happy expression wonderfully. Great work in capturing that. Her expression and pose almost makes me want to dance along with her. Beautifully connected to your inspiration. I hope your friend enjoys this extremely. ♥ ♥
Although I like the overall idea of this, I think it would be a stronger piece if you changed some of the values- giving more variation to them. As of now, it seems that you are using three. The first being her white skin, the second, the grey in her hair, and the third, the dark outline, her eyes etc. Everything has a distinct shade, nothing is ever white when it comes to using graphite. If you tried giving more areas different values instead of just sticking to those three it can really tie this piece together and make it pop.
Try imaging that the sun is hitting Miku. She wouldn’t stay a solid three shades. She would be composed of many different lights and darks.
The use of negative space in the left and right upper corners of Miku balances out the picture well.
The fact that you had Miku’s hair flowing down and her hands up is also well thought out. It really makes the viewer focus on her face. A great focal point in any drawing.
Continue drawing your heart out MissTaemin. I hope that I brought some helping criticism and you can smile and be proud of what you created. It’s wonderful work. ♥
