Charcoal can be a pain when one's hand accidently makes marks not intended as part of the coloring process, especially when little piece drop and make makes. Usually, you need a fixative to get the charcoal-colored areas to stay as they are. Apart from that, your charcoaling allows a few grey shades to appear on the hair, and overall, the headshot is no mess.
