Haha - yeah, poor Link. I was going for more of a feeling of "I'm really focused on running down this dark cave corridor to go complete some task-AUGHH stupid fire Keese, get away!!!"
When I first saw this, I was impressed by how the pose managed to look both spontaneous and well-proportioned. Also, the colours~ The blend of watercolour with orange and blue pens is rather interesting, it does make it look somewhat sketchy but I like how the blues pop out and how the orange goes with the green. The adding of lighting and shadows via the swiping strokes of black and orange gives it an awesome sense of atmosphere as well. :)
Haha, that said, Link looking so defensive and challenged by this relatively small flaming creature-thing.. xD I guess it's the little ones you have to watch out for, after all. I don't actually play LoZ, can you tell now?
Yeah, I really wanted to see how that style (starting out with orange) would translate to my fanart drawings. I use it especially with musicians because they move so much, and it allows me to capture a sense of movement. It's especially apparent with drummers, when I might draw their arms in multiple positions and they end up looking like multi-armed Hindu gods. :)
COOL AND TOTALLY AWESOME!!! I love it :D And I like your Zelda-themed entry idea! I think all your entries have been amazing so far, and this one doesn't disappoint either!! I love the orange pen behind the paint. It makes it look a lot more interesting! Great work as always, snow-chan
