The problem is that I've realized it turned out like how I wanted it to, but not how its supposed to turn out like! makes no sense, sorry. I think I confused his character by getting this cool figure in my head instead of what he's really supposed to be so I ended up drawing him like this. As you said, he looks serious and almost irritated like he's 'too cool'. I've gotta change that for sure! And I'll use your tips next time to bring out the expression I want^^

I need to totally get him in my mind as a different character. Without knowing it, I'm focused on making him cool, and not fun. And then it all snowballs.

I think one of my problems is that I read too many manga with cool guys and I'm not creating any other options for myself. Like Kaji, he's supposed to be cool but Yoshirou is totally different. And then I end up having to work with him being psychic and all, its just muddling up his personality... but talking to you has cleared it up a bit! I'm gonna keep working!!

Maybe if you change Yoshirou's pose into a playful one and having Ayako shyly( Is that a word?, feel a little dumb today...) reacting to whatever he's doing then it might work. Like what if he fell into a pond and she frantically help him by giving him a tissue? (Just a random thought.) Maybe it's the glasses that are a problem....Hmmm
Awesome job on the pose, I like how you change it from the ref picture, very nice. The clothes you draw always turns out very good and they look flow-y :) Also nice choice in names, they fit
Hmm, maybe it's how the pose is playing out that's making him look to serious for you. Ayako is "cowering" behind Yoshirou who's cooly looking out into the distance. Perhaps Yoshirou would look over at her either in confusion, concern, or perhaps amusement at her timidness. I think that would draw them closer as a couple. But I could just be trying the ruin the affect you were going for?
