I have about an hours drive to where I work. Of course, its a little, well ALOT more simple than Craig's commute. I can't lame him for getting lost between trains. I would have done the same thing. *laughs*
Lets see now. It starts to get light out about... five in the morning. And it gets really dark about nine thirty.
How far do you have to go? Craig's journey involves a 20 minute walk to the station, then a train ride for half an hour or so, then a little walk to the next station, then a short train ride out to the edge of that town, then a bus trip to the site where he works. Sounds complicated. He only started on Monday and he phoned me yesterday as he managed to get lost between train stations on the way home XD silly thing.
Erm, the sun rises aaattt. Hmm. I'm not sure I'll have to google it. I'm guessing about 5:30 at the moment... *googles* oh, 5:20am. I was close! Sunset is about 9pm now. We have a good view of that in our flat *grins*
How about you? What time does the sun show his face where you are?
Yeah Craig has started his new job, and requires a bit of a commute on the train, so he gets up at 6am aaaaaaand I decided I may as well get up early too. I make myself useful and cook us breakfast. I'm not usually a breakfast person, but I HAVE to be now, as I don't get to have lunch at work until between 2 or 3pm.
Early mornings are nice. I like getting up with the sun, and such. I mean, unless you go to bed quite early to get a nice full bodied sleep its not very nice. Not very nice at all.
But the BEST of luck with your practice! I hope you have a breakthrough!
Well, I woke up at 5:40 (tis now 8am) aaaaaand I don't have to be in work for another three hours, so I'm going to have a little practise now methinks.
I'm getting used to this whole early morning start malarkey XD
More like staring at people who are walking around. Chin resting on hand, eyes narrowed in concentration. All that good stuff.
Practice practice practice! With shading it takes a little study to know where to PLACE the shading, and than experimenting on how you want it to look.
Aha I could just imagine you walking around staring at people's noses hehe.
I want to improve on shading, well, I want to improve in general, but I'm attempting to get to grips with shading in my next drawing. I'm trying a more painting-like style of colouring, but so far it just seems messy haha.
Oooh I must have missed the update in my Backroom for this - I haven't been around here much lately. I really like it! I tried to do a little digital painting the other day, but it hasn't gone well so far. I really like how you drew the nose, I always find those fiddly, especially with paint.

@Kaerlyn:
This is the best nose I have ever drawn. I had to stare long and hard at other people's noses to get the hand of it. Next stop-- lips.
Glad you like it though. ^^
