I think I'm just gonna wait... in the meantime, I can do even more research and learn to keep time, do scales, etc. and practice on the ocarina. (Did I mention I play ocarina? More specifically this one. ) At least I can do something while I wait.

I'm kind of surprised that I let myself be scammed like that -m-Thankfully, my friends were able to recommend a place where I could rent/buy a real violin at a good price, and from a reputable music store too.

I'm just trying to decide whether I want to rent one, or wait six months until I can just buy one outright.

I'm sorry for your friend, and for those spammy phone calls. Why people can't be honest and stop cheating good, honest people I don't know.

I just had a friend buy an art program much cheaper on eBay and it turns out that its a version that she can make art on but cannot sell that art. Also I myself just got a phonecall the other day, telling my parents that our computer is being hacked so they need important info from us. Its like, huh? =_=

BLAH!! I'd definitely be so disappointed as well... I'm disappointed for u right now and so I can't imagine how upset u are >3< *hugs* Thats a good thing that you can get a refund tho!! Its a big bother when things like this happen but kudos to u for going into action on this!
I guess this is why my parents rarely let me buy things online... there are so many hidden things that the sellers don't tell u >_< Its insane. But I hope this bad experience doesn't take u down.

*awkward silence* I have some bad news...

I took it to school to have my friend help me with tuning, finger positions, and all that good stuff during lunch. When she started tuning the E string, my bridge snapped in two.

An orchestra teacher looked at my violin and told me (in blunt terms) that I'd basically been hoodwinked into purchasing a VSO (violin-shaped-object) and not a real violin. The bridge hadn't been shaped to the *fake* instrument, and my bow (which I thought was new) had been re-gripped (AKA used before).

Needless to say, I was bawling in under three minutes.

All my friends felt terrible (especially the one that had been tuning it). Luckily, I was able to pull myself together to make it through the day.

When I got home, I immediately filed a return with the company I'd ordered it through. At least I'll get a full refund, but I'm mad at the seller for advertising it as a violin when, according to the orchestra teacher, "it'd make a nice table lamp."

Broken rosin was the least of my worries, it seems.

Aw man, thats sad :( but yes, get a new rosin and then don't look back!!! xD I wish we lived closer to each other, it would be fun to play songs together^^ (not that I'm good haha, but I do play the piano and want to learn the guitar.)

YES! (Technically it's Tuesday cuz I couldn't log on yesterday *momentarily sad, then happy again*) It came!! And I'm SUPER happy! I was able to start playing around with it after I got the bridge on and tuned it :) My first violin experience: a very squeaky rendition of one of the first measures of Tobu Ishi's "Brothers" (as sung by Vic Mignogna) :D I can't wait to get a new rosin (the one that came with my violin broke into little tiny pieces in shipping, wah!) and then I'll REALLY be sawing away! (JK)

I'm glad that someone else thinks my drawing's good (because everyone knows parents are biased when it comes to their kids), it helps my self-confidence and drawing skills! (Although the magical color-changing background was a plus :D) My day went awesome once I got home, so that made me feel better. I just can't believe I forgot to sign and date the picture... oh well, haha
