Upon reading this wonderful encouragement i realized that if pride really goes before fall then I'm probably going to be falling for a loooong time now x)
I totally laughed out loud reading your female armor comment. So funny XD
And pride goes before a fall didn't you know? I mean, look at the witch king and see where that got him
I'm glad you were okay with the criticism. I always try to do it in an appropriate way, but sometimes what sounds good at 12:30 at night doesn't sound so good in the morning ^^" But I'm glad it helped. I can't wait to see your next piece!
haha you absolutely made my day by saying you could have it as a background - i'm practically walking around puffed up with pride (^U^) I was leaning towards making the armour more feminine, but then i realized I would probably make it look like a steel bra so i skipped that entirely (TwT)
Thank you so much for the constructive critiscism, it's so rare to get that - I think it's because people on this site don't wanna risk to offend someone and I can relate to it a bit but at the same time it's such a pity since it's a great method of improving.
With all that said I have to agree with you, I read your comment and looked at the picture and was like; Oh, the sword really is small, as with the forearm. These are things I for sure wouldn't have thought of for months unless you had pointed it out, so now i can have it in mind directly for my next drawing. No more tiny weapons and arms, lesson 1 of 2013 haha <(^-^)>
Thank you so very much! It means alot hearing it from a fan of the series/franchise itself, I was nervous just because it's such an epic story, so submitting something,eh,bad would feel as if dirtying it (TvT)
Sugoi!!! awesomeawesomeawesomeawesomeawesome! *sets as computer background*
like sindar said you can definitely tell she's a girl. I think it's the chestplate and the shoulder guards that give the most illusion of maleness by squaring the upper part of the body. But it's till obvious she's a girl.
And the witch king? A-MAZING!! Just the subtle coloring and shades are so epic!! And the drape of the clothes and and and *stops self from drooling* Basically it's amazing and we'll leave it at that.
I do have two things I'd like to mention that could use some work. First, her forearms look a little too small and/or not long enough. They just look, I don't know, fragile? I understand that the armor makes her look a little bulkier, but those aren't the arms of a swordswoman in my opinion. Second, I think her sword could use a bit more length and width as well. You don't want her swinging away with a broadsword, but she shouldn't be using a rapier either. Of course canonically she could be using a short sword (which I can't recall atm), but even then the blade should be wider.
Anyway, sorry about nitpicking on the small details. It is an absolutely gorgeous piece and I will be showing it off on my computer screen for a long time

This is awesome! I had no problem recognizing Eowyn as a girl. True, I'm at an advantage being an avid LOTR fan, but I think she looks plenty feminine. She's disguised in male armor for this fight, but her stance, face, and hair all look like a woman's - she's beautiful! ^^ And the Witch King looks fantastic, too! I love everything about it
