Ah I see... yeah these days I haven't been sketching much so its weird getting back into it xD I've put most of my projects on hold at this moment tho, since my work just overloaded me =_= Dog-sitting and walking for a full week, but I'm still working on ideas for art xD Lol ur animal project was awesome ;)

Ah ok good to know! I don't sketch often, only to get a concept out for the bigger images. That's why I started that animal project some time ago - although only did it one week.
Atm my RSI is playing up again :S I can barely computer or draw so my part of the art trade will take a while longer.. :)

*hugs* Thanks!!! Oh hmm... well I think I was doing 2 or 3 realistic painting a week recently but I`m on a bit of a break from those right now.. Also I used to be able to draw one art or sketch multiple drafts up in one day, but sometimes I`m not in the mood either :P So if I`m lazy, I do no artwork and if I`m in a good mood, I get probably 3 or 4 good arts done a week plus sketches.
I agree, this is one of your best works yet. I almost can't believe you only spent like 7 hours on it. that's crazy. I love how weathered he looks and you got that skin tone really good. And omg that beard is just brilliant! Beautiful highlight s and tiny hairs. And he has a great expression there - more than the refs you choose for legolas ^^

OMFG THIS IS JUST OMG. I am speechless. *stares at picture for 10 minutes* I can't get over the fact that this is AMAZING. >.< and I wish I could just sit down and do this. Those eyes beautiful and I just love it. But the fact I stared at it for so long I had to find what can be improved on. What I see wrong and I keep on staring at it, is that his bottom lip that there should be more of the shadow under his bottom lip so it sits more. It just pops out too much, especially with the white facial hair. Really overall it is still awesome. Just remember to make anything sit in a picture it must have a shadow so it doesn't pop out of the picture. You want it to be part of the picture. (I really hope that makes sense.) just keep up the awesome work! ♥
Ah, this is good x) And I think he's one of the best characters in the lord of the rings. the lighting looks really cool o3o You did a nice job xD I'm happy you've done so many realistic digital paintings! They're awesome :)

It is a good thing if you have an art college nearby. Keep that in mind, because art is something that you like and that could be your profession.
Also that little commission that your neighbor put you through might be actually good for the start. :)
Everything starts with simple errands and later becomes something quite big.
For now it is good to build your skills in many different styles, like you do now. But the time will come when you will have to choose one style to build on, if you choose that path of a career. :)

Ah you're right... I've sort of been lured to joining DA for that reason... since it has more of a variety of art then theO does. But for now, I'm here to stay and I'd never want to leave my friends for any more popularity in the first place^^ I do visit DA for inspiration tho. But I'm very happy to be able to expand my style and have others enjoy it^^ I think the practice I've been going through with anime and art in general over the few years has taught me a lot that I can apply to anything... But I thank you and my Otaku friends for that since I wouldn't have stayed with this passion had it not been for encouraging words and support <3
Thankyou, you really make me feel like I have a bright future and build my confidence!! I still have to work on lowering my nervousness when dealing with commissioners tho... I guess I have been afraid of messing up or losing inspiration when someone trusts me to do a specific artwork xD haha
BUT after reading your comment, I'm feeling a lot more stronger like always <3 And even tho I have not gone to college yet nor feel like going at this time, I do have an art collage 5 minutes from me and I am able to apply anytime I'd like to go so that lane is open to me^^ And this week, I may get a serious commission from a dog-owner who told me she wanted to hire me to do an artwork... What it is, I'm not sure but I will be finding out soon!

The best painting that you have done by now and one of the best that I have seen here, period!
Which actually brings me to an another conclusion. This is a realistic type of drawing and I have seen some quite amazing animemanga drawings here, so the realistic drawings aren't a forte here, but I can definitely say that if someone can do this in such a short period of time and with not that much of practice (I am sure that you had, but still not as much as some other do) you could also do very professional portraits of almost anyone.
You are getting better and better each time and have a very good chance to purse an art career. Don't let that talent and effort go to waste as if you find a chance, any, to get into an art college definitely go for it!
You can also make it as a freelancer, but having a diploma in your hand is becoming necessity and it will be much easier later on.
Of course you can always stay on this path as making it just a hobby and continue to enjoy in it as that is the main important thing in life, to just be happy and satisfied with it. :)

Another amazing painting! :D There's so much life in him, and the out-of-focus background really makes every detail stand out. I've always found facial hair difficult to draw, but you did a great job with that, too! Hehe. I'm loving all these portraits!!

OMFG THIS IS JUST OMG. I am speechless. *stares at picture for 10 minutes* I can't get over the fact that this is AMAZING. >.< and I wish I could just sit down and do this. Those eyes beautiful and I just love it. But the fact I stared at it for so long I had to find what can be improved on. What I see wrong and I keep on staring at it, is that his bottom lip that there should be more of the shadow under his bottom lip so it sits more. It just pops out too much, especially with the white facial hair. Really overall it is still awesome. Just remember to make anything sit in a picture it must have a shadow so it doesn't pop out of the picture. You want it to be part of the picture. (I really hope that makes sense.) just keep up the awesome work! ♥

Yeah thats right... I do like trying new things and challenging myself but I don't know how skilled I am to go ahead on one style just yet. So for now, I'll continue doing art as a hobby and maybe slowly start taking commissions... But I do like having it as a career option :) Thanks for your advice!

I used the brush tool but I downloaded a brush pack for SAI from DA... I'll try to find it but it included Bristle brush and Spread brush. I use those the most. Also the water tool is useful to blend! I like my artwork canvas to have a height of 3000 and a width of 5000, or vice versa. And then I resize it to 1500 max. when I post it here^^ Thanku for the questions and nice comment!! :D

It is a good thing if you have an art college nearby. Keep that in mind, because art is something that you like and that could be your profession.
Also that little commission that your neighbor put you through might be actually good for the start. :)
Everything starts with simple errands and later becomes something quite big.
For now it is good to build your skills in many different styles, like you do now. But the time will come when you will have to choose one style to build on, if you choose that path of a career. :)

Ah you're right... I've sort of been lured to joining DA for that reason... since it has more of a variety of art then theO does. But for now, I'm here to stay and I'd never want to leave my friends for any more popularity in the first place^^ I do visit DA for inspiration tho. But I'm very happy to be able to expand my style and have others enjoy it^^ I think the practice I've been going through with anime and art in general over the few years has taught me a lot that I can apply to anything... But I thank you and my Otaku friends for that since I wouldn't have stayed with this passion had it not been for encouraging words and support <3
Thankyou, you really make me feel like I have a bright future and build my confidence!! I still have to work on lowering my nervousness when dealing with commissioners tho... I guess I have been afraid of messing up or losing inspiration when someone trusts me to do a specific artwork xD haha
BUT after reading your comment, I'm feeling a lot more stronger like always <3 And even tho I have not gone to college yet nor feel like going at this time, I do have an art collage 5 minutes from me and I am able to apply anytime I'd like to go so that lane is open to me^^ And this week, I may get a serious commission from a dog-owner who told me she wanted to hire me to do an artwork... What it is, I'm not sure but I will be finding out soon!

The best painting that you have done by now and one of the best that I have seen here, period!
Which actually brings me to an another conclusion. This is a realistic type of drawing and I have seen some quite amazing animemanga drawings here, so the realistic drawings aren't a forte here, but I can definitely say that if someone can do this in such a short period of time and with not that much of practice (I am sure that you had, but still not as much as some other do) you could also do very professional portraits of almost anyone.
You are getting better and better each time and have a very good chance to purse an art career. Don't let that talent and effort go to waste as if you find a chance, any, to get into an art college definitely go for it!
You can also make it as a freelancer, but having a diploma in your hand is becoming necessity and it will be much easier later on.
Of course you can always stay on this path as making it just a hobby and continue to enjoy in it as that is the main important thing in life, to just be happy and satisfied with it. :)

WOW THis is EPICNESS!!!!! It looks EXACTLY like Aragorn. The details are accurate to the last detail. Just amazing, hell amazing doesn't even cover it,neither does epic and that's a first. How bout beyond epic? Yeah beyond epic seems to fit here. Anyway great job, I love it~ could I get a watermark free version of this?
