I know (that you're not the groom, not that you're stupid!), but being the groomsman means that you're right there next to the groom when he's getting married. Being the groomsman, maid/matron of honor, and the person who's giving the bride away are pretty much the three second-most-important roles in a wedding (besides the bride and groom). (At least, from what I've read/seen on tv about weddings. Never actually been in one.)

Having almost no experience with male wedding attire, my first guess was best man but now for some reason I'm thinking groom.
