Oh It's very rare to get questions about the tools I use, how fun! Unfortunately I only have a sort of confusing answer, I do have a set of pencils marked with the H&B scale (which I kind of don't understand ahem) but for drawings like this I usually only use two along with a normal sketchpen, 2B for medium stuff and 3H for the darkest parts and the sketchpen for the lightest parts.
I'll keep it in mind to work more on the eyes next time I'll do a similar piece - Thank you so much for the constructive criticism, it's most helpful to receive word of what others see sometimes! (^v^)
At first, quick impression I thought you used pen, but it's pencils. Love the shading and the details you did. Great flow of shading. Did you use different H and B pencils? Perhaps the shading in the eye could a tad sharper to get the focus more on the eyes. Anyways amazing artwork ^^
But even if he kicked you out, with all the money you could make with the autobot you could buy him and yourself a large house . . . probably several large houses actually. In Hawaii ^^/
Good. I'm pushing you out of your comfort zone. Yay me XD
Upon reading "built me an optimus" I just had this vision of me trying to put together a truck sized x-large in my family's tiny garage- it would so be worth it if it resulted in creating an autobot, but dad would probably still kick me out TvT
I'm so glad you liked it, if I hadn't been doing it as a gift I probably wouldn't even have tried to improvise - so you're definitely nudging me to become better *v* Come to think about it, even if I could afford death the kid to lecture me on symmetry he would probably rip dem unsymmetrical drawings apart, good to be poor this one time
bahahahaaa! That's a hilarious introduction, yet so true ^3^b Congratulations on your 70th piece! We can't wait to see more of your things
You made me an awesome original piece!! Kyaaaah! I can only copy an image I see. You just built me an optimus prime!!! XD
heh heh I can definitely see Optimus looking suspiciously at people. You can't really tell the eyes are different though. It just looks like a type of perspective. (Death the kid is probably too expensive for you )
I just love all the different metal pieces that make up his, um, anatomy? And the shading! I don't know why I even bother to talk about it anymore. It's just a given your shading will be excellent ;P
And I like the faceguard. Faceguards are cool in my book d=3=b
