Hey! i like this pic, it was very nice of you to make something for your brother. its a little sloppy, which is okay every once and while, especially cause u even said ur other work is better!! ^^ i dont like that plant thing, and it could probably use some color or even shading *_* .. for a first time pic of the character, it is good enough but he(she?) could use help. use a ruler on the bricks and sidewalk. and make the lines neater when they are straight. also, the pose is too rigid. people bend in the arms and in the knees frequently. its akward to keep everything so straight like it is in your pic i think that the face is fine though; really good infact. the eyes are well constructed.
