well the anime is directed from the same person who did fruits basket so if you like that you should like this as well, though in my opinion is much funnier and the manga is also 10X better as any manga/anime comparison is.
yeah a lot of times that's how it goes with shows derived from the books. short and sweet is what they like. I needed more so I started reading the manga and I am in love.
