It was! I don't like my art to look 'messy' (at least I try) so it was hard to go all free on it. I first painted the basic colours and shape of the horse so that the proportion and shades were alright. Then I mixed different brushes and added colours to the background. So I had a clear image of the horse before I added the textures/effects. I'm not confident enough to not have a base first xD

BONNIE!!! I saw this late last night and I blame you for my lack of sleep!! LOL jkjkjk I wanted to comment so bad! But seeing this again has gotten me super excited again. MAN this is incredibleness! I would pay for this art, no joke. And I know lots of other people would too!! An impressionism artwork is always really cool, but you've done amazing here! Just seeing the movement of the horse, and the way you have SO many awesome textures from the brushes and the colours match in such a perfect way...
