I don't have too many dreams about the ocean. I mean, I used to have many dreams about water and drowning, but now main are more focused on either driving around, the house I keep seeing, or something else.
To be honest, I don't really recall most of my dreams now, I think it's because they are more happy, or something. They say that you remember nightmares better than happy dreams and it's true.
Oh and that thing about your English class sounds interesting!
I remember one time in my English class my teacher did this thing where she gave us a situation and then had to describe the setting etc. in our own words. We were supposed to go into a forest and see a house. We said what kind of forest it was and what kind of house it was. Then that said something about your personality or something.
I dunno this just reminded me of that! XD
I have lots of recurring dreams, almost like all my dreams exist in the same setting...O.o; For a while I kept having dreams about washing up on some shore where there was grass and mountains and the water was a crisp blue. And there would be a shack farther down shore and a white tower in the distance. However mine is not unsettling, just pretty.
I wonder if your dream has something to do with anxiety...??? I dunno, I'm not an expert on dreams.

That's weird indeed! I've never had the same dream that shows up again and again. Sometimes, I wish it could happen to me; my mind gets really cool dreams that seem to give me adrenaline in my sleep! XD
Sorry if this is seen as annoying, but I just wanted to see if I could help ease the nightmare by maybe figuring out what it means.
Knowing that there is this 'badness' that you keep going to, even as you know about it, could relate to an event or person that is taking place, even as it is negative, you are drawn to or know that is it bad and cannot/are unwilling to stop it.
Seeing the house as a container could mean that you are unconsiously returning to undelt anger or emotions. To take a more Freudian approach, could you be having anger or fear about a woman/maternal figure in your daily life? Or maybe witheld negative feelings for something you deal with regularly.
Overall, it has to do with your take on the symolism and mood of the dream. A good site to also check out is 'Dream Moods'. Maybe the true meaning is that you could just hate your home. I have no idea, but I do know that sometimes if you pick apart a nightmare, it can help to ease their re-occurance. I hope this helps. Sorry if it doesn't.

Not an annoyance at all. You make some very good points about this,
and yeah, I think what you said made a lot of sense. Thanks.
