i understand what you mean about the shading, i can't even color, but i get having a hard time doing the shine and shading right; i have also stopped or at least put things on hold for MONTHS, even a year, because of getting to shading; but i think you did great on the hair here! :D
eh, maybe you don't do it like everyone else, but that's a good part of it too! doing things differently makes your work unique, and i personally like how you do eyes ^-^

When I do the coloring for hair, I don't know how am I supposed to do the shading, how am I supposed to do the shines part. So I spent a lot of time on hair coloring. It's one of the reason why I stop working on a piece; I simply can't color the hair the way I wanted.
And the eyes,awawa...I can't color like everyone else did. My best method is to make sure where to highlight and all.

No no the anatomy looks incredible! I definitely can't do that :P It actually looked too good to be done without a reference :P
Hmm add a filter on top and set it to darken and use a brush maybe? Just play around with layer settings :) But if you like it, don't change it!

i simply adore her hair, it is what struck me immediately when i saw this piece; so lovely how you did the shading, it looks so silky smooth X3
and her eyes are amazing, they suck you in and keep you there; overall i love how you do eyes <3
