Come to think of it, I wouldn't want to go to a really big convention because it might be really crowded with long lines for everything. So do you have any ideas in mind for costumes you would make?

I went to one, but like I said it wasn't a very big one. There were a few people in costume or wearing fandom-related clothes, but i wasn't (hadn't had the time or money to make a costume) and it was sorta fun but kinda meh. Bought cute soap shaped like food. But a bigger convention might be a lot more fun. If we get the chance we'll figure out how to do it.
Might be, lol. Humans aren't always the best at recognizing their own limits.

Yeah, I think all kids should be given a basic education about this stuff, that way young transgender kids will know there's a word for how they feel and cis people would grow up a lot more accepting.
I'm not sure where. I'm not close to any big cities. There is one anime convention that meets in Burlington annually, I think, but it's not very big or well-known. So maybe a bigger city. I don't know if you know of any good places to go.

Yeah, the first time I ever heard discrimination was when I was a kid, I'd seen this TV documentary about a transman who got pregnant because he still had his original reproductive organs, and it was about his journey and what it felt like to be a pregnant man, or to safely raise the child in a society that can be very unsafe for transgender people. It was a really interesting documentary, and a couple parts were emotionally very powerful. Later on I was talking about it to my family and my dad was like "But that wasn't really a man." And even as a little kid I was just like
An anime convention would be so much fun! I'd have to decide whether to handmake a costume or buy one...but creating one is more fun!

Yes, that's true, gender and sex are different things. I only used the term 'gender assigned at birth' since it was a new one I'd been seeing lately around communities that explore different gender identities. But yeah, it really is a problem when people don't respect someone's gender identity. One of my coworkers prefers 'they' pronouns and our supervisor keeps calling them 'he' no matter how many people remind him it's 'they'.
And yes, anyone should be allowed to use the bathroom of their gender, but I still think it's a good thing to have the single-person bathrooms in case someone's not comfortable with going into the bathroom of their preferred gender for fear of discrimination (really is a shame that that happens) and also because, as I said before, single-person bathrooms tend to be more disability-friendly.

My school recently installed gender-neutral bathrooms in lots of the buildings. Which I think is great, but I'd still like to know what their stance would be about allowing people to use the bathroom that isn't their assigned-at-birth gender, because I haven't heard any word on that. Still, making a point of putting in gender-neutral bathrooms is a step in the right direction, especially since they're single-person bathrooms and designed to be more disability-accessible.
(Sorry I take so long to respond, got school stuff and life drama happening.)

True, in my art class this summer even simple sketches took up so much time, and portraits took forever. I was surprisingly good at portraits, given that I've proven to be so bad at freehanding faces.

Yay for environmentally-friendly art practices! And yeah, I guess the effects of pencils are really muted, digital art could be made to look really 3D and vibrant.
Though I've seen some art where people made pencil sketches look deceptively real. I am so envious of that kind of talent.

Thanks! I'll have to look into that! I really wish my scanner would work, since now it's just taking up space in my living room, but that would be a good idea. And $10 a month is pretty affordable.

Yes! There could be a whole backstory as to why they are helping! Like they owe my ancestors or something.

Might re-color it a bit when I get the chance! Back at school with my non-working scanner though.
