No, you're completely right. I see what you mean even more now that it's been a couple days after I've "finished" this - I need to go back and rework it. I guess I just got so impatient and tired that I wanted to call it done. I've been so busy lately and I'm still trying to push myself to do a major art piece every month. I need to slow down, I feel overexerted, you know?
All of the things you said make sense and I agree with you. I'll focus on those things the next time I work on this.

This is a pretty neat portrait Eneko. It’s nice to see a painting of an older person since you don’t see them too often.
I like how you did the coloring on the hand but I feel like the painting as a whole is not complete.
I noticed that some of the edges of the figure look choppy, while other parts look air brushed and it looks inconsistent. I think that you should use a solid bush to make the edges crisp and solid.
To me the coloring looks transparent and needs to be more opaque so you don’t see the white background. The blending is also off, it kind of looks like you painted over something especially in the neck area because it suddenly transitions from painting to real skin.
As for the clothes, I think the video Kitty linked seems very helpful. If you can draw in the folds and then paint over it and sculpt it a bit, it could give off a really nice 3d look.
I don’t think that texture is necessary though. Personally it looks distracting. You should try and paint in the effects if you can, it would make things look much more organic.
I hope you don't mind my comment!
