I totally understand you! believe it or not I started coloring my draws less than two years ago. Before I totally hated coloring because I sucked at that and because I preferred drawing than coloring, but in these years I tried a lot of different medias like watercolors, colored pencils, promarkers, pens and I have to say coloring is a lot of fun and gives more life to the draws! I know that's difficult but if you like colors I think is worth do a little practice, and I'm sure you will get a lot better, trust me if I was capable of learning something, then I'm 100% sure you could do it too!
for the blending, if you use colored pencils my tip is to use different layers of colors to both cover well all the white spaces and make the different colors blended together, also the quality of the pencils and the time you spend on a piece can influence the final result, in my view stadler and faber castell are the best brands, still everybody has some tools that feel more comfortable with, is just a matter of tries and practice in the end!
sorry for the long comment, is just that coloring is so much fun and is worth a try in my view, but in the end the only thing that really matter is to have fun and be satisfied with your pieces of art!
I thinks it's just I'm not very good with colors. I have trouble blending them or I just color to light and it...just. ever turns out the way I wanted =/ I just feel like my charas look flat with color
Uwahh thanks! ꒰#’ω`#꒱੭ I always make super colorful art, sometimes it just hurt people eyes for the massive quantity of colors XD why your colored art feel flat to you? you have troubles choosing the colors? Or you simply prefer black and white art?
I don't think it's a mess at all! It's beautiful! I love it when people use color in their art. I personally struggle when I add color because I feel my art isn't as strong when I color it. It makes it feel more...Flat maybe? This is amazing
ahah awesome comment! that's a nice interpretation! :) I'm happy that you like it, is not too bad being my first try with pens! (but still ink flowing EVERYWHERE ugh) and your definitely talented, you have a great sense of lights/shadows, and and the proportions! (which I don't have since in my drawings my characters have heads too big for their body) is not easy being able to copy/make a draw just by looking at a reference, being self-taught, and with the friggin pens! so I thinks is not a wrong definition!

That was an... unexpected surprise on the end of this weekend.
Dedication and i am being called a MASTER/CHUMP heheh
I think im just a decent copier really with little imagination.
Looking at the drawing i see you put a lot of effort. So many different colors everywhere and them little details on the head, dress, jewelry and a funny two "satelites" raising her skirt front so she can show off her legs a little more.
She's clearly going on a picnic but since the basket for sweets is to small she have some extra on the head.
Alma- the extravagant classy sassy :) Very good work
Ups its AMAL really...
