I know what you mean. I look back at some of my artwork on the hard drive and here on this site. There are some things I wish I knew when I drew those. I actually go back and "recreate" some of my artwork. I usually end up redrawing only certain sections of the artwork and not fully recreate it.
I started a progression grid though. I take one character and every time i learn something new, I implement my findings onto it while keeping the previous versions to compare.
That sounds logical. Sometimes I feel like digital art is never finished. You could always improve on at least one aspect of the art. The crucial thing is if you can see where the drawing is 'uncorrect'. Often when I submit art I still see mistakes. Sometimes I adjust them, sometimes I just mention it that I see it and leave it be.
Yes! I see what you mean - I remember color blocking in one of your art :D I never use a blend tool - I simply use an opacity pressure sensitive brush. Blending after is just a lot of work haha xD
Mahalos for the comment. I'd have to say there's no exact procedure about the "clean work". Um.... I think what matters the most is how much time you spend on illustration. I remember there was an artist who had a picture grid of a character. Each square showed the progression of each step (like the first square was a sketch, then progressed to the final art). Each square was numbered from 1-9. He then asked a question: "Which step,(1-9) would you stop at?" "Which step you felt it was complete?" What surprised me was a majority stated ballpark at step 5-6. I noticed that the artwork that was done from steps 7-9 were barely noticeable (step 8-9 I couldn't even tell the difference). Anyways. I guess it just takes time to clean it.
BTW. If you use too much blending then the work will appear muddy and won't be as clean as solid colors. also contrast with good color blocking.
Mahalos for the feedback. I think I need to mess around with the settings of my monitor. I realized that some of the detail were lost in the darker areas.
Love how you made this draw. The colors are very nice and I like the character's pose. She's like a classy kind of sexy if that makes sense. You did a good job overall., love the colors and details. Her hair ia pretty too.
This is very very pretty. It could totally be a cover of a manga, or a videogame for how well done it is. and you did a good job in showing the beauty of the body without exaggerate and make it too sexual.
It took me longer to do the background for this piece, so I really had to give props to your wallies as I realize the effort in matching those backgrounds (probably why I never did any of them = lack of skill). Honestly I'm envious....lol.
BTW. I think the only way to get the more "sexy type" is on the booru sites (but majority is Fanart). Honestly if the source material isn't ecchi to begin with, the rarer for official sexier artwork to be found. Or maybe less men are drawing those anymore? The more I peruse this site, I'm finding out that there are more females on this site than I thought. In fact, there are some users who I thought were male turned out to be female....I guess usernames aren't tell signs anymore.
Mahalos for the Kind words and Mucho Mucho Malahos as well for the feedback. These types of feedback really helps. I'll try your suggestion tonight. FYI, Your wallpapers really inspires me to try all these texture brushes. Maybe One day, I'll try to make one.
Mahalos for the kinda words. and Mucho Mucho Mahalos for the the honest feedback with the hair. BTW after drawing the beach it made me miss Hawaii....Sigh.

You did a really amazing job with this piece. It is sexy but also very tasteful, something you hardly see on Minitokyo anymore. The most impressive parts of this piece to me are the water bottle, the text, the background image of the beach, and especially that lens flare. One small comment I will make on the hair is that I think the effect you use would've looked a little better if her hair was a bit darker, but other than that it's fine.
I really like the pose, the coloring, the beach (I really would like to go there) and the Highlight from the bottle. Very nicely done. The hair works if you give it some time (for me, that is).

What!? This is freaking good. The skin coloring is so soft.. you used blues and purples in it for sure. And a dark pink. Woah.
I'm super amazed. How do you draw such clean work? Love the background <3
