Hey there. Your drawing's ecellent. I must agree with you, to be honest. Your shadking isn't the greatest. YOu asked for a tip or two, and I've got one. Never EVER cel shade with a pencil unless you place the shadese closer together in hue. As far as learning to shade properly, take a scrap piece of paper and start by pressing down hard on the pencil and color as you would with a crayon or colored pencil, and move down, slowly easing up on the pressure you put on the pencil, and if done right, the area should progress steadily from dark to a much lighter hue. As far as shading objects or people, take the places where the shadows are darkest and use the same princible to reach the lighter areas of your subject, and take into account where the light strikes on the subject and how the light would bounce off it, whatever it is. It's more realistic shading, but it's a start as far as teaching yourself how to cel shade with a pencil or otherwise. ^_^
Said this earlier, and I"m gonna say it again, I love the piece in general, even the shading's good, though it could use a tiny bit of work. ^_^
