I read Stephen King's autobiography for an autobiography review assignment I was given in school over the Spring Break. Unfortunately, my English teacher is really stupid, so I'm not learning anything this year. T.T But! Stephen King's autobiography has taught me so much! *^.^* His autobiography is called "On Writing" and it's not entirely an autobiography, it's also an instruction manual on how to write well. (And coming from Stephen King, it's really great!) One of his tips on writing is: "Start writing with the door closed, then write with the door open." Meaning, write your story for yourself with your own ideas and opinions, then write by keeping in mind what other people (the readers) would think. So I'm going to try applying this tip to my drawings ^.^
This is the first drawing I've done according to that tip and I really like how it came out! (This is the first time I've been pleased with one of my drawings results ^.~) It's a picture of Nana from Elfen Lied, when she was all chained up and shot at and such... However, I've been dying to do a picture like this since grade 8 (2 years ago). But when I started drawing my morbid pictures in that grade people would pick on me for it, so I didn't get anything done until grade 9 or summer I think... Another one of Stephen King's tips is: "Write whatever you want!" So to all you great artists out there: draw whatever you want, don't let people stop you! ^.~
