Sorry for the bad quality image, but it gets my message across either way.
For some reason, I've only seen a lot of it on theO, but there's some ridiculous stuff trying to pass itself off as Lolita. Frills or a puffy skirt do NOT make something lolita.
Lolita is a particular style of fashion. It's based on English Victorian style, for the most part, and one of its key points is modesty. It's extremely rare to find something loli style with a skirt anywhere above the knee. Another key point would be elegance, or a sort of understated cuteness. So cleavage? NO.
At some point it passes from Lolita into some weird-ass cosplay-ish getup. (This sometimes happens with Visual Kei style too...)
Not directed at anyone in particular, and not meant to offend, but it's just something I've noticed that bothers me. .___.'
Sorry, I'm really not trying to insult anyone here.
