In this piece we have a Sylph (Faery) and a Faun (Satyr) representing respectively Air and Earth but not as clashing opposites but as playful elementals that need each other in order define themselves.
The Sylph represents the aethereal and abstract, what lies over our head and beyond; what hides inside of molecules, atoms and the very fabric of our world. I guess here she represents nature as a willing provider of its blueprint and secrets.
The Faun girl represents the mundane and animal, but in a sensual, welcoming way: the earth as a source of food, fruits, shelter and riches, always willing to let mankind take from her countless resources.
Ultimately, feel free to flip this drawing around, as it is intended to work upside down, pretty much like a trump card.
