his is Daiyu :3 My new Avatar The Last Airbender OC.
This is how she looks while on the back of the Last Lion Turtle.

Bio:

Daiyu is a girl who comes from a poor fishing family. She had no bending abilities whatsoever but she is very adventurous. Her father is a seaman and is often out on his boat for months on end. At age ten she finds out that her father will be leaving for another trip that can take years before he returns. After hearing this, she decides to stow away on his boat to have an adventure and watch after him.

While at sea a huge storm hits and she is cast overboard. After drifting for days at sea, she finds herself on the back of the Lion Turtle. The last of it's kind that has been hidden for hundreds and hundreds of years. The Lion Turtles have been hunted down and killed but this last one. When she awakes, she is on an island. (The island is on the back of the Lion Turtle) She is the first human in hundreds of years who has actually seen it, let alone be this close to it.

Only Avatars have actually peacefully been in the presence of the Lion Turtle and learned from it's wisdom. Few Avatars have actually learned the art of Energy Bending (Spirit Bending) and even fewer have actually used it. The costs of using this bending are very dangerous and can be extremely harmful to the user. Daiyu learns much from the Lion Turtle on her stay there. She becomes one with her surroundings and is able to feel chakras from the animals around her. She is able to understand them along with other living things. She is isolated from other people for five years. In that time, she earns the trust of the Lion Turtle and earns the white markings upon her skin( in the picture above). The white markings show the flow of her life energy (chakras). Her life energy is a pure white. The Lion Turtle realizes that she will need to find others of her kind and entrusts her with the ability to energy bend. She is the first human given the ability by the Lion Turtle. She is also the first other than an Avatar. The costs of using the Energy Bending is great and because she is not trained in the art, she does not use it for a long time. Nor does she ever think to use it.

As the Lion Turtle bestows the art, he says this: "The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can touch the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void, but always yields to purifying light." He says this to Aang before teaching him Energy Bending before his fight with the Firelord. After hearing this, she realizes that her newly given power is not for destruction but for saving. Her weaknesses are the fact that she cannot kill. She will only ever fight for self defense. If anyone she cares about is put in danger, she will fight only to save them. She is very caring but mostly useless because she will not use her energy bending, afraid that she does not know enough about it and is not trained enough in it to use it without killing herself.

Energy Bending is an ancient art in which the user uses not the four bending elements but the spiritual energy within themselves. The four bending elements (Fire, water, earth, and air) evolved from energy bending. Daiyu's energy bending gives her the ability to remove ones bending ability. An example of this is when Aang takes away the Firelord's firebending along with his knowledge of bending.

Daiyu eventually leaves the island and ventures out to a new land. She discovers people and tries her best to be sociable. She is never in one place for too long. Often she will work in the fields or on a farm for a few days with no pay. The people she works for will often give her a place to stay for the night and food to eat as compensation. She is 15 when she leaves the lion turtle and while she is traveling, she meets Iroh in Ba Sing Se at his tea shop. He gives her a job offer and she gladly accepts. Her job is to collect herbs and she and Zuko often go together to find them. He is usually quiet around her and was angry at first when Iroh gave Daiyu the job. She is always trying to talk to him and hopefully be friends but he often just speaks in a few sentences and is quiet the rest of the time. As the days go by they become closer and he begins opening up to her. She finds out about the Avatar and why Zuko had been after him for so long. She tells him that he is lucky to have such a loyal uncle like Iroh who is stays with him for so long and she promises to stay by them both. She says nothing about her bending ability but Iroh is able to sense it though he says nothing.
