This is my submission for the NYAF Mascot Contest! Being a New Yorker myself I feel a special connection towards this contest. Instead of going with something really flashy and out there, I decided to go with a simpler design that still looks cool because sometimes less is more.

Now let me explain the actual art:
It's a chibi so that's the anime part, but it's also a demon and that's the Halloween part. There are also other Halloween aspects to it: Chibi Demon is holding a jack-o-lantern,the color of the sky, and the moon.
Then I also have the NYAF logo of course!
I drew two apples for "The Big Apple" (that's pretty self-explanatory), and there's a silhouette of a city skyline for NYC's many skyscrapers.
I made Chibi Demon have one red eye and one blue eye since red, white, and blue are the colors of the American flag, and red and white are the colors of the Japanese flag. There are also cherry blossoms which are a symbol of Japan, and Chibi Demon even has a little patch of the Japanese flag on his pants.

It would really be absolutely awesome if I won, but I really just want to at least make it to the top 10!
