I spent up to 6 hours on this mini strip, staying up well into the night due to an artistic spark. I never want to just go to sleep when I've got the urge to get something on paper.
This particular page was just a prototype run for a doujinshi I'm working on called: Desert Fireflies. It's a rather complicated storyline which I may write up as a fanfiction before I get into completing a comic for it.
Rough outline of the design so far:
Ryou feels slowly as if he's losing himself after what seems like over a month after getting rid of the millenium ring in fear of the dark spirit's power. However he finds tat separated from it seems far worse than having it at hand. Upon a last desperate gesture, Ryou attempts to seek out where he had hidden the ring but finds it in the hands of a mysterious old woman.
She says she will return the spirit of the ring back to him warning that a great change will occur in his and his friends' lives.
Taking in little understanding towards her words, he takes the ring back to his apartment and returns to his normal routine that evening then decides to take a nap upon the couch. He dreams of a lifeless doll, suddenly rising to it's stuffed little feet and dancing as the shadows twist into strange figures singing, chanting and dancing about a raging fire in the desert.
He wakes up from the distressing images, rubbing his eyes to then come face with his reflectin in the mirror across the room revealing an unusual scar under his right eye.
Panicking, he runs to wash his face in attempts to deny it, still thining it's part of the dream. However a voice startles him, revealing itself to be Akefia, taken on a physical form.
But apparently, he's not the only "Yami" that has....
Translation for what they're saying:
Ryou,"I don't understand..... You're making no sense..."
Akefia,"Shut up Hikari"
(I apologize if it's not completely accurate, my japanese is very rusty...)
